Grounded Sole

Grounded Sole is located at 3417 Strong Ave, Kansas City, KS 66106 in the Argentine area of KCK. Founded on the idea to be more than coffee. Taylor, the founder of Grounded Sole had a vision to be of service to the community where it sought fit. After taking time to listen to the true needs of the neighborhood she'd just moved to she found a solution to a deep need she could take action on.

There was no space community members could come together, have meetings, converse, and simply be. Out of this need sprouted Grounded Sole. It is now a place where people who have had a desire to host Christmas parties but couldn't afford a venue could now host friends and family for a good time. Where graduation parties are held full of laughter and love. It is now a central part of the community and can be felt as soon as you step foot into the space.

Grounded Sole is a space where a 80 year old mother can speak about her life living in the neighborhood for over 40 years and never seeing a coffeeshop near her can tell her story. It is a place that has sprouted more community events, reunions, and celebrations. These walls encourage creativity, bring a sense of safety and love pulses throughout. It was through deep listening that this space has become a haven for the community, and staff alike. It is not just a space that sells coffee. It is a space that is sustained by its community members. By keeping the price of it's coffee reasonable for the community it has allowed it's members to feel safe coming into the space and feel at home. Like it belongs here. An art piece rendition of the neighborhood made by someone of the community is displayed on the wall to show pride and give space for creatives to be seen.

There is so much rich culture in the Argentine neighborhood and Grounded Sole has created a space where it's community members can enjoy more than just coffee. They can enjoy each other and the love the space emanates
